Owner resources / Guest use

How do timeshare guest certificates work?

A guest certificate or guest-name change identifies who may check in, but it does not replace the underlying reservation rules.

Check timing and fees

Programs may impose deadlines, limits, age rules, fees, or restrictions on repeated guest use.

Match the guest exactly

Names should match government identification, and the guest should receive check-in instructions, resort charges, occupancy rules, and contact information.

Keep the reservation stable

After confirmation, avoid changes that could cancel the stay, alter the unit, or expose the guest to unexpected charges.

Independent guidance: Rules and outcomes vary by resort, club, exchange company, reservation type, and jurisdiction. Confirm current requirements before acting.

How Resort Owner Compass can help

We begin with the ownership, reservation, deadlines, and controlling rules. When appropriate, we recommend Co-Host guidance, Full-Service support, education only, or no service.
